- The kind of design I want to produce.
- That I want to work in a studio, rather than freelance.
- I would love to work in the states.
- I want to work branding more.
- I want to graduate and design now!
5 Thing you would address differently than you did in the summer.
- Get a placement.
- Organise my time better.
- Spend more time designing/producing work.
- Spend more time in America.
- Visit more studios.
5 Specific things you will address this semester that should be useful.
- Organisation.
- Finding a work placement in Newcastle.
- Use my research to aid and influence my design.
- Create a personal time table of when and by what point aspects of my work need to be done.
- Book print slots early to avoid messing up my own time table.
5 Things you feel we could address as a group.
- Share sources for placements and visit opportunities.
- Knowledge of how and what is the best way to promote your self as a designer.
- How much do we charge for our work as level 6 students if and when we embark into live briefs,
- How we effectively pitch for a job to a perspective client.
- How to invoice a job properly and what is the correct protocol.
5 Things you feel we have not looked at in PPD you personally would like to know more about with reference to professionalism.
- Have more industry professionals come in from studios abroad, as it is something that I think influences the design of a large number of people on the course.
- Discuss in more detail company set up and speak with tutors, past students and visiting professionals about how they went about it.
- Similarly regarding freelance work, and the ways you may set up doing that.
- Job interviewing techniques the best way to go about it.
- What work we should be applying for and what frankly all the fancy titles mean.
