Alphabet Soup Crit (8-10-10)
Issues Raised-
Lot of different ideas, like a mood board
Need to refer back to adjectives.
Action To Be Taken-
Focus on one particular idea and develop it further.
Refer back to adjectives let them reflect within the work.

Flatten Visual Thinking Evaluation
What is being comunicated and how? (refer to final piece only)
My insperation/ starting point for this typography brief was 'flatten'. The interpritation of this word and how to translate it into something visual in order to comunicate the meaning. i wanted to comunicate the word but starting with a large out of focus photo of light in the shape of a letter, moving through the series getting shapred, less distorted, this is flattening the image. also the very fact that i hd used photography to flattern somthing that was previouly 3D worked as a method to omunicate in its self.
How well does this answer the brief? (why do you think this)
The brief set was to find a solution to the problem using the anatomy of type to explore possible outcomes. I feel that I explored text and how different aspects of type could be manipulated and used to create something visually stimulating but at the same time answering the problem set. I think that my final outcome explored many possible outcomes and placed them all together to create an effective piece
of work.
How well has your idea been visually explored? (refer to research/sketchbook?)
through research, an sketch book work I looked at different outcomes and ways of exploring the word 'flatten'. through mind mapping the word and looking at what i thought of the word, but also taking the dictionary defintion i started to scetch inicial ideas surrounding the word which quickly lead to development of the idea culminating in a final outcome.
What are the strengths of the resolution? (refer to whole body of work)
I feel one of the main strengths to my resolution is it is visually pleasing, and also interesting to look at. This hopefully strengthens the ideas behind what i am trying to comunicate through the body of work.
How could it be improved?
Although I am relativity pleased with the outcome, I feel certain aspects of the piece could have been improved upon. For example the edit on the photographs where on print not all quite the same this could have been easily rectified with more time but is still a small thing that spoiled the overall appearance of the entire set of images.

Self Evaluation
What role(s) did you take on in the group?
Layout designer/presenter for final piece.
How well do you think you performed in these role(s)?
I think the layout was successful, clear and informative. the presentation went well it was clearly spoken, I felt I answered most questions that were asked to a high standard.
How well do you think you worked as a group?
As a group I felt we collaborated well all bringing ideas to the table and using our individual skills to produce a good piece of work.
What were the positives of working in a group?
The design process was quicker with lots more input and ideas to work with and develop.
What were the negatives of working in a group?
Sometimes it is hard to find time when everyone is available to work and collaborate ideas, therefore some ideas would take presidents.
What will you do differently next time?
Have more time dedicated to working as a collective. the group would hopefully therefore create a stronger piece.
Where could you have improved your resolution?
We could have created a more consistent design throughout the overall product. this making the layout and text design more tangible.
What were the strengths of your presentation?
The presentation I felt was clear precise and to the point of the needs and demands of the product itself.
