Website (precept)

While at Precept I have managed to get them to build my website, so I have deigned it and it will look like this. Hopefully.

Website (cargo)

Ive been working on a cargo site, it will do for now but I would rather be able to have full controll over the design and be able to have someone else build it!

I'm an intern!

I have all sorts of official things now like twitter and an email adress it official!

Talk with tutors

When I got back to uni I spoke with Amber about the opertunity at Precept, she agreed it was to good an opertunity to miss and i should try and arrange something where I could get the best of both worlds. Two days a week seemed to be the best solution, Thursday Friday seemed to be the best days for this. I then got back in touch with Precept!

Week at Precept

My week at Precept in a few choice photos! It was awsome! and even better is that I culminated in being asked to be a full time intern not at Shift but at Precept. Again this starts in May so theres a pesky degree in the way but we will see if something can be arranged.

One week Placement.

I wanted to get something arranged for the easter break, so I had a placement under my belt I got in touch with Nick to see if this was possible, we conversed over email and came to the arrangement that would see me go in for one week and we talk about future endeavors while I was there.

Morning at Precept

Today I went into Precept  it was difficult to find but once I arrived I was met by Nick the creative director and Adam the senior designer I was briefly shown around then we got down to business. We looked through my portfolio as I spoke through the projects. They seemed quite impressed by the standard of my briefs and the work in my portfolio, as i was leaving they mentioned a program they were going to start running clled Shift, it was is an internship program in which runs for 15 weeks and aims to give creatives industrial experience. They offered me a place. But it starts in May. I have this thing called a degree, but they seemed like they could be quite flexible and were open to other ideas and pathways.

Portfolio

I've put together my portfolio in the last couple of weeks in the hopes I could arrange something like this I have chosen my personal favourite briefs and I think they represent my practice well.

Arranging going to Precept

A really productive convosation with Studio Precept, I'm going in portfolio in hand.

Back to silence, Round two

When I was up in Newcastle on other bussiness I decided to throw some mor pictures at them and see if I get anything, shy bairns and what not. It worked anyway, well after a few days. And althought the postcard had failed well and truely, twiteer came through for me hopefully.

A Responce

They got back to me, unfortunatley they didnt/havent got the postcard yet.. Ive tried to play it cool, this is a strange form of design dating.

Twitter offensive round one

Just tweeted @StudioPrecept a picture of the corner of the post card see if this is a better way of getting in touch with people... watch this space.

Responces, or lack of...

I have not recieved any follow up responces to my mail out. This is a little disheartening but percistance is the key. I have therefore decided to focus my efforts one one for now and will attemp to contact them through twitter. I will lead with the mail out.

Mail Outs

–
I have been searching the web for studios that I could possibly get a studio visit at and potecially a placement. I have narrowed my search by of course places that intrest me but also by location as it is only possible finacially to go to certain places in the country or I would not be able to afford accomodation.
