Holbeck Urban Village








 Holbeck urban village is a collection of properties for designed for commercial business, leisure facilities and even flats and apartments. there already established creative businesses working from the development and this could be a great place to set up a studio.  

Studio Space




This is some really good studio space I have found in Leeds, There are several units with different residence all with different creative occupations, they start from as low as £165pcm. This would be a great place to start up a business especially if it is with a small number of people. I think this sort of creative hub is something to really consider when considering a property.  

Design Strategy and Presentation

Unfortunately I was absent from the session today, but I have met with my group and they have caught me up.   

I understand there are a couple of alteration that need to be put in place regarding our press ad, but overall I think Jane was pleased with the group and our ideas. She linked what we where doing to another company in Leeds to research, a company called Factory 4, this company does a similar thing to what we would like to do except without the graphic design element.  


The group went onto there website and found several prices for different services this is good for knowing out competitors and what they provide. 







Sadie got in touch with with Ollie from Catalog this will be great we will be able to look around there studio and discus things, but also the fact they are LCA graduates will be useful as part of the course and module. 

My group seemed to go into over drive with my absence and got information from banks and building societies about loans, and starting a business.

INPRESS Logos







These are some of the logo designs we came up with during our meeting [13-01-12] we wanted to have a fairly simple logo that communicated our ethos as well as show off our design ability, hopefully this has worked and is visible in the chooses we have made.

Press Advert


Group meeting on the 13-01-12, we gathered to discuss the press advert to go into creative review below are some notes taken by Francesca during the meeting.




Within the meeting we disscussed the following, budget, size of advert and design of advert. to start with we worked out how much we wanted to spend, this was aided by the workshop we had previously done on the cost of running a business, the budget most people had come up with within the workshop was £550 pounds per person accumulating £200 between the four of us. Secondly we how much we wanted to spend of our budget in creative review, bearing in mind the relevance and prestige linked with the magazine, we decided on a 71mm by 106mm double sided photo card advert costing £500, there are several positives about our chose the fact it is double sided, it is removable and it is also not too expensive.     



From there having made key decisions we where able to make some designs.

As a part of the task set in the session [10-01-12] we have to create a press ad to go in creative review, this would include pricing, so here is a price list/ set of prices for advertising within creative review which my group and I have acquired by Sadie ringing Creative Review.

Enterprise Group and Task

In the first session we confirmed the groups we where in tand then where set the task of coming up with a name, slogan and a company ethos and the servises we would like to provide.

Once we where set in our groups we where then set a task to be prepaired for the next session, to create a press advert to be placed in creative review, we must decide how much we would like to take out, we must also design the press ad.
