Placement at Courage

These are the email coraspondence with Tim the creative director of Courage where I did a plcement over reading week, 13th -15th Feb.

GF Smith

While on my placement up at Courage, a rep from GF Smith came in to talk with Tim the creative director he brought lots of sample books and sample buisness cards which I managed to get my hands on for long enough to take a few pictures the camera on my phone does not give justice to how great the stock and printing is on these cards. The actual GF smith cards are what I have attempted to create with my own buisness card but without as nice stock or proper printing facilities.   

Enterprise

As a group we arranged to go and see Catalogue, they had previously come into uni to talk to all three years and from that we linked them with what we wanted to do in our enterprise group, regaurding a small studio doing alot of in house printing.

They have  a screen printing machine for printing t-shirts they said it wasnt the best thing in the world but it does the job, they got it from  www.wickedprintingstuff.com. Something else which was intresting was that they built there own exposure unit and wash station for only a couple of hundred pounds which is only a fraction of the price of buying the equiptment.

This is some of the work they have done for there catch-up events, they gave us some samples, they use print them using a riso printer which makes a really intresting finish something I would love to experiment with myself. 

 

End of Module Evaluation

"Lillyput"

Our good friend "Lillyput" will be travelling state side this week and hope fully he is eye catching enough for some one to think the creative who sent him deserves a placement/work experience / industrial experience. We can but hope.

Final Sequence

Final sequence and finally done!

Concept Crit [11-01-12]

This crit was a chance to get our ideas out of our heads and on to paper and indeed discuse it for the first time with other people, it was pretty benificial to me I found my self finding clarity with many aspects of the project for example colour scheme, audience and overall style of the piece. 

Crit [07-02-12]

In today's session we where given the opportunity to look over a range of different peoples work, essentially we proof read there work making sure it worked in terms of what they where trying to produce, but more importantly that it actually functioned, everything working. We also had the opertunity to review each others packaging, with along with watching others work was intresting but altogether mostly benificial, as we where able to here from others what they thought about our final efforts and more importantly what in the short time we have could be changed or amended for the best result. The feed back I recieved was good and I am pleased with my finished article ultimatly there is always so much more you can do, but as somthing completly new to me I have done a satifactory job of regaurding the final submission. 

Final Crit [01-02-12]

At the beginning of this crit we where asked to write questions we felt we needed the answer to regarding our work and how we felt about it. I felt the people who critted my work where very critical which of course is a good thing, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming when you feel you have so little time to complete something seemingly never ending, but once you reflect on the feedback and take sometime to understand digest it it become allot of help to your work, especially with a project in which I did not feel very confident of engaged with I think I started to enjoy and became most engaged in the work after this crit. This perhaps was to late in the day, but better late than never and I think I have produced better work because of it.
